To see if your radio has the new or old chip, (rom version) turn the radio off.
While holding down the 1 and 3 keys on the keypad, turn the radio on.
On the FT1000, the new ROM is revision 6.0 or later. The FT1000 needs rom 6.0 (or higher).
On the FT990, the new ROM is revision 1.3 or later. The FT990 needs rom 1.3 (or higher).
We cannot supply rom upgrades and it is YOUR responsible to determine that your own rom version is correct.
Earlier rom versions are faulty and do not correctly support CAT operation.
If your radio has an older (faulty) ROM, we recommend that you contact Yaesu and upgrade to the latest ROM version.
